There was no better way to enjoy the long weekend than a relaxing stay at the Delta South Calgary.  After undergoing a $3.25 million investment, the property has undergone major renovations to reveal a modern, tech-focused new design.


CSL loved the new Smartdesk complete with a fully wired multipurpose desk that allows guests to plug in mobile devices to the flat screen high definition tv, as well as stay on top of work through a laptop.

The new guestrooms, called ModeRoom, "are inspired by the Canadian landscape, with fresh and modern colour palettes and a focus on maximizing natural light. The rooms balance functionality and adaptability – as exemplified by the new SmartDesk™," notes Delta.  As fans of Philosophy skin products, we were happy to see these chic products in the new rooms.

One of our favourite parts of the visit was the "Our Kitchen in Your Kitchen" policy at the Atrium Cafe.  If you can dream it (and the ingredients are available in the kitchen) Delta will concoct it for you.  We asked for a hot and spicy soup and ended up tasting ghost chilies for the first time ever (incendiary). A table next to us asked for asparagus at brunch and were promptly served. 

 

Delta Calgary South will offer the new guestrooms in three categories – ModeDeluxe, ModeClub and ModeSuites. The ModeClub rooms will offer upgraded services and amenities including turndown service, heated bathroom floors and exclusive access to a private lounge featuring evening hors d’oeuvres (wonderful portion sizes) and deluxe breakfast buffet which will open in the summer of 2012, bringing this level of experience south of downtown for the first time.
