THOUSANDS EXPECTED TO RAISE OVER $1 MILLION TO TURN WISHES INTO REALITY

WHEN: Calgary, September 29^th –The 2013 edition of Wishmaker Walk for Wishes is coming this fall.  Participants from across the country are expected to raise over $1 Million in pledges in support of The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada. 

WHAT: This fall, thousands of people will walk together to raise funds for Children’s Wish in locations in every province.   

HOW: The Alberta & N.W.T. Chapter of Children’s Wish is pleased to announce Wishmaker Walk for Wishes locations across the province.  For a complete list of locations, dates and times, and to find out how to get involved, visit www.wishmaker.ca.

WHY: Wishmaker Walk for Wishes is the largest and single most important fundraising event for The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada and its success ensures the Foundation’s continued tradition of never refusing an eligible child a wish.  Participants or “Wishmakers” make an important contribution by collecting pledges prior to walk day and walking the route in their area. Participants or “Wishmakers” who raise more than $100 have the opportunity to earn rewards, including a chance to win a trip for four to Florida or a Sun destination, courtesy of Air Transat and Marlin Travel.

The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada: Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Since 1984, The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to over 19,000 children and their families.
