When jewellry designer Mimi So came to Calgary this April, she spoke exclusively with City Style and Living magazine about her inspiration, where she sources her gemstones and her recent CFDA award.

Born into a family that designed jewellry, she studied at Parsons before embarking on creating her own fine jewellery line. Geometric patterns and a penchant for infusing her designs with stories and experiences from her life characterize Mimi So. A trip to Jackson Hole with her family led to a new collection; her love of jasmine is seen in her gold rings; and when flight disruptions caused her to spend hours at an airport she transformed the experience into a ball and chain bracelet.

Who knows maybe her trip to Calgary will lead to a dazzling new collection.
