Cinnamon roll with Donna fugata Ben Rye
Lemon Brioche and Norman Hardie unfiltered Chardonnay
Host for the evening Michael Biggatini guides guests through the pastry and wine tasting
On a chilly Thursday evening, guests were greeted by the smell of freshly baked French pastries, inside Willowpark Wines and Spirits. Pascal's Patisserie, specialize in Viennoiserie, offer customers 'take and bake' pastries which can be baked in the comfort of your home (think: warm croissants on a blistery Saturday Winter morning).
Pairings for the evening included:
Classic French Croissant and Henriot Blanc de Blanc
Parisian Pain au Chocolat with Torres Floralis
Lemon Brioche with Norman Hardie unfiltered Chardonnay
Chouquette with La Spinetta moscato di Asti
Cinnamon Roll with Donnafugata Ben Rye
Almond Croissant with Alvear Amontillado
Each pasty was wonderfully buttery and crisp and not overwhelmingly sweet which made the pairings blend seamlessly with the offerings. Ooh La la indeed!
