CHINOOK CENTRE EXPANSION VIP GALA

The red carpet comes alive as part of the VIP gala opening at Chinook Centre

An ice sculpture with Chinook Centre's new insignia

Guests were welcomed to the party with a glass of sparkling wine

Pins with the red and white insignia feature shoes, cutlery, lamps and ice cream cones reflecting the mall's various retailers

We noticed many guests intrigue and delight at the live, moving sweets table
(several girls roamed the two floor event)

Mouth watering demonstrations took place at the new Godiva boutique.

At Lacoste, guests were treated to Veuve Clicquot, while browsing the store for a special personal shopping experience

A waitress welcomes guests with edible glittery dusted chocolate truffles

Beautiful food displays adorned the public spaces, like this green candy apple lawn.

A stainless steel wall of spoon sized appetizers (smoked salmon and potato wedges)

Rows upon rows of eclairs, choclate whoppie pies, chocolate cakes, and cream filled chocolate cups were on display for guests to enjoy

A bird's eye view of the enormous 5000 person crowd

Nine West, just one of the many new retailers at the expanded wing of Chinook Centre

More colourful candy was ready to grab and go

An asian themed food display on the second floor, featuring sushi and noodle salad

The tapas bar, included a play on a caprese salad

Waiters quickly made and served sushi to go

More tapas, from Great Events catering (which did a beautiful job of the various food displays throughout the mall).

Not only was this a celebration of the expansion of Chinook centre, but the mall is also celebrating 50 years in Calgary. Happy Golden Anniversary
