11 WAYS LANGDON HALL WILL SPOIL YOU

The exterior of Langdon Hall Country House Hotel and Spa, the Relais & Châteaux property  which features 52 luxurious guest suites. The gorgeous location in Cambridge, Ontario is just one reason to visit.

Interacting with guests in the dining room, taking them on foraging tours on Langdon Hall's grounds and picking vegetables in the beautiful garden, Chef Jason Bangerter is electric as he speaks about food.  "Being here has revitalized me," he says.

Recently awarded the 2015 Relais & Chateaux – Rising Chef Trophy, Chef Jason Bangerter creates a colourful plate of foraged ingredients as the focal point of a plate featuring farmer's hands.

The grounds feature a British style garden replete with flowers, fruits and vegetables.

Lounge chairs beneath a portico near the hotel's pool.

A sun room leads to the original residence (each room on the ground floor is now used for meetings and private events is decorated uniquely).

The hotel is a font of tranquility and relaxation.

'Terroir'- a visual and flavour feast of intoxiating herbs and berries foraged from around the property at Langdon Hall.

A path leads to the Spa (plans are in the works for a brand new spa and more rooms).

Initially built as a country estate by wealthy American Eugene Langdon Wilks in 1902, Langdon Hall Country House Hotel and Spa has all the grandeur of an old world chateau. Situated in Cambridge, Ontario the hotel's spectacular grounds feature a Victorian style garden, greenhouses, pool, and trails amidst Canadian forest. Flowers blossom at every turn, and native herbs grow wild in the surrounding primeval forest.

While the Hall itself is spectacular with its Federal Revival style architecture, the food inspired by local, seasonal ingredients is equally astounding. Chef Jason Bangerter uses the natural colours of locally foraged plants to offset white plates and infuses modern techniques and playful artistry in his food.

At the spa, an array of treatments help to revive the senses after a long flight. Our stable loft suite is spacious, with a sitting area and wood burning fireplace that makes it even more cozy.

THE CANADIAN BEEF CULINARY SERIES BY KARISMA LAUNCHES 2015 LINEUP WITH WORLD-RENOWNED CHEFS

Canadian Beef served at El Dorado Royale, A Spa Resort, by Karisma, an adults-only Gourmet Inclusive® property.

Chef Erik R. Palomino of Toronto was the showcase guest Chef at the Canadian Beef Culinary Series by Karisma in July 2015.

Living in Alberta, we are fortunate to be at the heart of the Canadian beef industry. There are even people who drive around with “I love Alberta beef” logo on their cars and trucks. Imagine enjoying that quintessential Canadian ingredient in the tropics beside the Caribbean sea.

CSL was excited to learn that TheCanadian Beef Culinary Series at El Dorado Royale, A Spa Resort, by Karisma, an adults-only Gourmet Inclusive® property in Cancun, Mexico does just that. The event takes place the second week of each month when guest chefs work with the talented Karisma Hotels & Resorts team of Michelin star restaurant-trained chefs and sommeliers to provide guests with an exciting culinary schedule, including cooking classes, tastings, education classes, special pairing menus and an exclusive Guest Chef Dinner – all centered around the star ingredient – Canadian Beef.
The Canadian Beef Culinary Series began with a kick-off beach BBQ- the tall palm trees, overlooking the crystal clear water was the perfect backdrop for the friendly gathering. The highlight? The interactive nature of the series - allowing guests to learn about how to prepare different beef cuts, chat with chefs, and discover new wine and food pairing suggestions from sommeliers.

The most exciting part for foodies? Chefs from cities across Canada will be sharing their culinary talents with guests throughout 2015, including Chef Jonathan Gushue from Toronto and former Top Chef Canada participant Chef Todd Perrin. In fact, Calgary Chef Paul Rogalski, owner/chef at Rouge Restaurant in Calgary, will be featured this November.

Offered exclusively at Karisma Hotels & Resorts, guests are invited to discover The Canadian Beef Culinary Series, by Karisma at an additional cost of $300 for the weeklong program at El Dorado Royale; a la carte rates for wines and ad hoc wine and culinary experiences at the entire collection of Karisma Hotels & Resorts start at $35
